Chapter 247: No money, no deal.
Driven by curiosity, Dylan opened Ava’s laptop. The screen revealed her progress on the project bidding. Leaning in, he browsed through the details, his brow furrowing in concentration. He was so absorbed that he didn’t notice when Ava returned.
"Here is your tea." She placed the steaming cup of ginger tea on the table and settled beside him, cradling her lemon tea in her hands.
Dylan gestured toward the screen. "I think you should revise this part."
Ava leaned forward, her eyes scanning the area he indicated. "What exactly are you suggesting?"
Dylan began explaining. Ava listened intently, her focus unwavering as she sipped her tea. Their conversation deepened, each contributing ideas until they reached an agreement. With a small nod, Ava began typing, her fingers gliding over the keyboard as she incorporated the revisions.
Finally, she hit the save button with a satisfying click.
Dylan’s face lit up with approval. "It’s perfect. I’m confident we’ll win this project."
But Ava’s expression turned pensive all of a sudden, her eyes distant. The smile on Dylan’s face faltered as he noticed her change in demeanor.
"What is it?" he asked, a hint of worry in his eyes. "You are not happy with it? Do you want to change something?"
Ava shook her head, her conviction returning. "No, I’m satisfied with the final report. It’s not that."
"Then what’s on your mind?"
