Chapter 211: The lies and deception
"It seems your daughter is a carrier of problems," Dylan snorted scornfully. "How could things be okay when she is around?"
Erica’s temper flared immediately at his insult. "What do you mean?"
Lydia, however, was unphased by Dylan’s harsh tone. She raised a hand, silencing Erica before turning her full attention to Dylan. "What did she do this time?" she asked with a grave tone, but her expression held a note of concern.
"Last night, I was at a bar, drinking. She appeared and said she would take me home." Dylan’s finger pointed straight at Erica as he launched into his accusation. "But instead, she dropped me at a hotel, where a woman was waiting for me trying to seduce me. And when I escaped, a guy attacked me and almost killed me."
"What?" Dylan’s words seemed to hit Lydia with the force of a freight train. Her face immediately darkened, her gaze turning to Erica, the shock and disbelief evident in her eyes.
Erica parted her lips to defend herself, but Dylan spoke again. "It’s all her doing. She tried to set me up with that woman. And she failed, she tried to kill me."
"Erica..." Lydia tugged at her arm, grounding her teeth. "Is he telling the truth?"
Erica, her heart pounding, shook her head frantically, her nerves pushing her into a frenzy. "I... I don’t know what he is talking about!" she cried out in desperation. "I didn’t do anything."
"Really?" Dylan snapped back. His voice grew louder, more forceful. "You’re saying you didn’t take me out of the bar? You didn’t lead me to that hotel?" He stepped closer to her with a challenge in his eyes, his anger rising.
