Chapter 180: I care about you.
"Bring her here," Dylan hissed, scrunching up his face. "I want to deal with her personally."
Justin shrugged in disappointment. "She left as soon as we began the investigation. My focus was on Miss Nina because of her suspicious behavior, and that allowed Jodie to slip away. But don’t worry, I’ve already sent someone to track her down. She won’t get away."
"Don’t let her escape," Dylan let out a low growl of irritation. "She is close to Erica. I am sure she knows a lot about Erica’s schemes."
Justin nodded, his gaze drifting to the file in his hand. It was then that he remembered Ava had entrusted it to him. He placed it in front of Dylan. "This is the file Ava Madam asked me to give you."
"What is it?" Dylan’s curiosity piqued, and he quickly opened the file, only to find a detailed report on Carter Group, which exposed the company’s web of lies. A smile spread across his face.
"Is Carter Group still trying to get an appointment with us?" he asked, closing the file.
"Yes, they are growing more desperate for your appointment."
"Set up a meeting with them," Dylan ordered confidently, rising to his feet. "I’m going home now. Call me if you have any updates on Jodie." He walked out of the office.
Dylan came home with the hope of seeing Ava fuming in anger, ready for an argument. He braced himself for her sharp questions as he went into the bedroom. But to his dismay, she was nowhere to be seen. His disappointment flared, and he planted his hands firmly on his hips, elbows jutting out in frustration.
"You really know how to piss me off," he muttered under his breath.
Dylan pulled out his phone and dialed her number. The call rang through, but when it went unanswered, his annoyance deepened. He quickly dialed her number again, but once again, there was no answer.
