"You know what?" I went around his office desk and propped myself on his lap. "They said they prepared a house for us."
Natha raised his brow, holding my waist and pulling me to settle better on his lap. I fiddled with the green pendant while giggling.
"They said it’s our wedding present," I explained. "Amarein said a wedded couple should have their own place instead of staying with relatives. Also, we need a place in case I couldn’t move for a while."
"That’s nice of them," Natha leaned back and hummed in contemplation. "I’ll ask my guy in the elvendom to send gifts, enough to cover the building fees."
"Thank you!" I grinned and gave him an appreciation peck. I was glad he started to see them as his family now that we were married. Perhaps because he knew the druid wouldn’t try to take me and keep me there anymore. "When should we go? The twenty-second?"
"Hmm..." Natha closed his eyes and tapped his fingers on my waist. "No, let’s make sure we arrive at the settlement the day before."
"Oh, you’re fine with that?" I asked in surprise. "It’s fine even if we go on the same day since Vrida already knows the lake’s location."
"I want you to have enough rest first," he pinched my cheek gently. "Don’t worry about my work, mm? I work for you after all, for this. I could just stop being the Lord if you ask me to."
