I gladly accepted the hot dog and took a bite. "Thanks."
Cypher watched me for a second, then smiled. After that, he was gone again. When I noticed him next, he was holding a matching bull cap. "Here, Remi! There are only two left!"
"Thanks," I said, allowing him to place the cap on my head. It felt a bit silly, but I couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm.
After that, he disappeared again. The moment he came back, he was carrying an ice cream cone and happily handed it to me. "Here!"
"Thanks?" I said, holding the ice cream, a bit bewildered by his sudden generosity. He smiled as he watched me take a lick of the ice cream.
"Umm, Cypher?" I asked hesitantly, glancing at him.
"Yeah?" he replied, still grinning.
"Your ice cream’s melting," I pointed out, noticing the drips starting to run down his hand.
"Huh? Oh right!" Cypher exclaimed, quickly bringing the cone to his mouth and taking a big bite.
’Why is he acting like this?’ I wondered, a mix of amusement and confusion swirling in my mind. I didn’t quite understand his sudden bursts of kindness.
Suddenly, he vanished from my side again. When he reappeared, he was already holding a scarf and carefully wrapped it around my neck. "It will get cold later," he said softly.
