Chapter 68
"Selina."
The name echoed in the steam-filled bathroom. Lukas listened to the name returning to him, then submerged his face into the water.
It was only after quite some time that he finally resurfaced with a gasp. He took a few deep breaths, then slowly tilted his head back.
Droplets of water clung precariously to his jaw, trembling on the verge of falling.
Drip.
The droplet landed in the still water of the bathtub, creating gentle ripples that disturbed the surface.
"Selina."
Lukas's red lips curved upward as he whispered the name once more.
Lately, he had begun to notice a strange confusion stirring within himself.
It had crept into his heart unnoticed, gradually growing until it consumed his thoughts entirely.
It was an emotion that compelled him to act impulsively.
It had made him offer Jacob a handkerchief, then want to chase him down and break his legs... It had made him suddenly visit the dress shop just to see Selina in a gown.
