“That’s great. I’ll leave his safety with you. However, don’t expect me to fight the ghost. The most I can do is to buy you time.” Kui Yi messaged, “How are Cao Yang and Yu Yu?”
“They are still alive and hiding at the hospital. I’ve informed them that the ghost has taken your appearance, so you better not go and find them,” Jiang Cheng replied.
“Understood.” So far, Kui Yi sounded trustworthy to Jiang Cheng, but he wouldn’t reveal crucial information to him, like Director Qi’s actual location.
“We’re almost there,” Lin Wan ‘Er announced, “I can already see the hospital.” The dark hospital was like a beast lying in wait. From their location, they could only see a massive shadow. The place was silent. Lin Wan ‘Er stopped when they were about 100 metres away from the entrance. They left the car and walked towards the hospital. The lobby was bright, but there was no one around.
Director Qi said that he saw Kui Yi at the lobby. However, the ghost had once again disappeared. Did Jiang Cheng’s caution pay off? Had the ghost gone to the motel to look for Director Qi?
Jiang Cheng thought about calling Director Qi but decided against it. He messaged him instead. Soon, he received the reply.
They soon encountered Director Qi curled up behind a tree. When he saw Jiang Cheng and Lin Wan ‘Er, he almost cried. “I finally found you. When Kui Yi left the hospital, I was so scared. I thought he would come find me.”
“Wait. Kui Yi left the hospital?!” Jiang Cheng asked.
“Yes. He left not long after our call. He was standing there earlier.” Director Qi pointed at the hospital entrance. “However, he left in a hurry after checking his phone.” As expected… Kui Yi was dead. The person messaging Jiang Cheng was the ghost. The ghost’s target was Director Qi. When it found out that Director Qi was not at the hospital, it hurried away. However, how was the ghost supposed to find the actual motel when he didn’t even ask Jiang Cheng for the details?
