The doctors were killed, not because they did something horrible to Xiang Nan. If anything, they resisted her seduction. The only one who was charmed was Director Qi. He was the reason why the ritual was still ongoing.
“But is it October 16th or 17th?” Lin Wan ‘Er frowned as she looked at the recorder that had stopped working. Yi Zhenliang’s recording mentioned that October 16th was a special date. It was repeated. All the men involved with Xiang Nan died on that day. It should be the date the ritual started.
However, the mad nurse’s clue pointed to October 17th. This one-day difference would dictate their fate. Once the clock struck twelve, it would be October 16th.
Jiang Cheng took out the mad nurse’s letter. He opened it and noticed a tiny difference. However, the difference was fatal. The number 7 in the letter morphed to 6.
Once he closed the letter, Jiang Cheng knew where the problem was. A few seconds later, Lin Wan ‘Er whispered, “It’s Wang Changguo.” Wang Changguo found the mad nurse’s letter. He entered the nurse’s room alone. Jiang Cheng didn’t think the nurse would trick them. After all, she was a victim too.
After Jiang Cheng calmed down, he realised there were many suspicious details surrounding Wang Changguo. Newbies had a high fatality rate, but Wang Changguo somehow survived. He even volunteered to join Jiang Chang and Lin Wan ‘Er to look for clues. That didn’t feel like him. He probably wanted to find the chance to destroy the evidence. Plus, the ghost hadn’t shown up for a long time already. The reality was that the ghost was already among them. It didn’t matter when Wang Changguo was swapped. The important thing was to notify their teammates at the hospital… if they were still alive.
“We need to hurry. We don’t have time.” Jiang Cheng shoved the radio into a cloth bag found behind the television set and carried it with him. They didn’t encounter anything when they left Zhang Zhaowei’s neighbourhood. This was not a good thing. The ghost didn’t go after them because it had more crucial things to do.
Jiang Cheng took out his phone. He thought about it. He didn’t call Kui Yi, but Yu Yu. When the call connected, all that was heard was a weak wind sound. It sounded like someone had stuck their mouth to the speaker.
Hearing that, Jiang Cheng sighed in relief. “Yu Yu?”
