Chapter 494: Show
After separating from Kui Yi and Weiwei, Wang Changguo pondered where to go. He planned to return to the room to hide, but he changed his mind because the ghost was with Lin Wan ‘Er. After the ghost killed her, it would come for them. If he were the ghost, he would check the room to see who was hiding there. He couldn’t just hide. He had to keep moving and see if he could find other people. That way, even if he were found, perhaps others would die for him.
He picked up speed. He could no longer stay on the second floor, so he decided to run up the stairs. He paced around the corridors. Most of the rooms were not locked. Based on the shadows, they were mostly occupied. However, he couldn’t hear any sound from any of them. He was not dumb enough to open the doors to check.
Perhaps the people at the hospital were already dead. Everyone that he met, including the patients and staff, was a ghost!
This idea clogged his mind. He slowed down and perked up his ears to listen to the sounds. The sky was fully dark. The lights in the corridor glowed weakly. Any sound was amplified in the silence. He could hear his own heartbeat.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed something. He turned to look down the corridor. A small figure walked out of the corner that led to the stairwell. It was… Weiwei.
Wang Changguo was overjoyed… Even though he just decided to abandon his teammates. In that situation, he felt like he was given a second chance at life when he saw his teammate. Weiwei was about 20 metres from him. However, as he got closer to her, Wang Changguo narrowed his eyes… Weiwei seemed different from before. She hid in the dark, revealing only one arm and her face. Her eyes stared at him unblinkingly. Her single arm waved at him, as if calling him over. Where was Kui Yi? They should be together.
Wang Changguo frowned deeper. He looked around Weiwei, trying to find Kui Yi. Plus… a strange feeling arose. The shadow around Weiwei felt weird. It wasn’t an issue of lighting. It was more like she was surrounded by a fog. Wang Changguo paused. He stood there and decided to keep observing. However, Weiwei remained unchanged. She kept waving at him.
A few seconds later, Wang Changguo noticed that Weiwei’s actions were very robotic. It looked like she was a puppet. The angle of her every wave was fixed. Plus, her fingers were crooked, forming a claw.
Just as Wang Changguo took a step back and planned to run, something horrifying happened. The fog around Weiwei disappeared. A pale face poked out from behind her head. The ghost’s crimson eyes glared at Wang Changguo. Half of its body poked out from behind the corner. With one hand on Weiwei’s head, the other hand held a severed arm. The ghost was holding Weiwei’s head and arm to perform a puppet show for Wang Changguo.
