Chapter 122
- KILLIAN -
I scoff. Every single nerve is my body is begging me to attack this woman but my head is telling me something different. It’s telling me to wait, it’s telling me she’s not worth it and a woman I love is in the kitchen right now and she can walk out any second at the sound of anything that seems violent and get scared of anything unsightly and I don’t want that.
My fists clench in my pockets. This has to be one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. Especially when ‘Carol’ is standing right in front of me.
“You know, Asami, I’m a killer.” I lean my head closer to hers. “We both know I know so many ways on how to kill a person and rid of their bodies in such a way no cop or anyone else alive will ever find nor realise it’s human flesh.” Asami’s nose flares up. I notice her eyes widen slowly. “And you know me well enough to know that I can rip your skin to pieces with my teeth without a single care in the world.” I let my lips rest beside her ears and lower my tone to a whisper. “The only thing keeping you from that fate is the woman in the kitchen. So you better be grateful to her.” My gaze lowers to sight her neck. Her body hair is standing. Good. My message is being passed across well enough. “So enjoy your movie then get the shit out of here.” I finally adjust and stand up straight. “Carol.”
My hands has been dug in my pocket all through the time I associated with her. Playing with my father’s zippo is the one thing keeping me sane.
“Okay, so I’m not sure what would’ve sufficed and fit the vibe of the movie, so I got cake. . .” The feminine voice coming from behind brings both our attention in the direction of the kitchen. Standing right outside the door is Hazel with a tray full of full, glass snack bowls. I take a step back from Asami. Hazel’s eyelids flickers and she looks at the tray before returning her gaze back to us. “Um, want to join us to watch a movie?” She asks. Her voice is low and soft.
I give a side glance to Asami, I notice as her body stiffens as she jerks a little, then I look back at Hazel. “No. You two have fun. I’ll be in my room.” I wink.
