Ellie Wilton stood outside the Emergency Room waiting, and in that moment, she felt an inexplicable surge of worry. She didn’t understand why she was feeling this way, but when she saw Jordy Wade lying unconscious at the entrance of her shop, all the dissatisfaction she had with him just evaporated.
Her hands twisted together uncontrollably.
Now, Ellie Wilton was a well-known figure, the wife of Marcus Parker, and so doctors and nurses treated her with due respect when they saw her. She didn’t care about these details; what concerned her was how someone as tall and healthy-looking as Jordy Wade could just collapse.
Marcus Parker arrived just as the doors to the Emergency Room opened.
The doctor in the white coat, upon seeing Marcus Parker as well, naturally began to report, "Mr. Parker, Mrs. Parker, we have thoroughly examined the patient, and it appears he was in a car accident before. There is a blood clot in his brain pressing on his nerves. We recommend that the blood clot be removed immediately; otherwise, there could be a risk to his life."
"A risk to his life?" Ellie covered her mouth, hardly able to believe such a result.
"You said he was in a car accident before?" Marcus immediately followed up with his own questions; he was not aware of the details following Jordy Wade’s accident, and he had just started to investigate Jordy Wade’s case. But how could there have been a car accident?
"Yes, it was likely caused by a car accident," the doctor stepped out and said. "Moreover, Mr. Wade has woken up; after resting a bit inside, he should be able to come out. We have already confirmed this with him. Also, he mentioned that he has lost his memory."
"Memory loss?" This time, it was Ellie and Marcus who echoed each other’s question in unison.
The man had actually lost his memory.
