Chapter 754: Surviving the Disaster (7)
All the people present were infected with the profound grief of the scene.
The entire memorial service lasted until 3 pm in the afternoon, and all the martyrs were buried together in the Martyr Cemetery. So, the immediate family members of the martyrs would stay until all of them were buried, and then complete the remaining procedures before going home.
Mia Parker and Ben Parker had to wait until all the interviews were done before they could go back. This kind of interview usually took three to five days, and some even required a week. So, after the interview task was over, she’d go back just in time for Carolline Ruiz’s wedding.
As colleagues, Carolline Ruiz and the others could leave after the memorial service was over.
Bryan Hawkins appeared at the end of the memorial service. He came to pick up Carolline Ruiz and take her back. He didn’t object to her making this trip because he understood the knot in her heart. So he then took a flight to Kyoto right after work.
"Haha, Bryan, did you install a tracking device on Carolline?" Gary Skate jokingly said as he followed Carolline, the two of them preparing to head straight to the airport, only to bump into Bryan Hawkins at the entrance of the square.
"..." Bryan Hawkins glared at Gary Skate, clearly meaning that it was none of his business. "I booked a flight for 7 pm. We’ll go have dinner now and then head over there, just in time."
"Hey, you didn’t just book tickets for you two, did you?" Gary Skate felt so annoyed, watching Bryan Hawkins taking Carolline’s hand and preparing to leave that he couldn’t help but step forward and ask.
"You can use public funds. This is my private payment. I’m picking up my wife." Bryan Hawkins replied matter-of-factly.
"..." Gary Skate really wanted to swear, but in the end, not a single word came out. He just watched as Bryan Hawkins led Carolline away.
