Two days later, despite Bryan Hawkins’ objections, Carolline Ruiz followed Gary Skate and George Edwards to Kyoto, to welcome home the souls of the martyrs.
Mia Parker and Ben Parker also joined. Mia Parker met Carolline Ruiz on the plane, so she shamelessly exchanged seats with the person next to Carolline.
Everyone on the plane looked solemn. Therefore, Mia couldn’t have a lively conversation with Carolline. They could only exchange whispers, fearing that their conversation might alert the Clark family, who knows how they would react?
"I mean, the Clark family is sitting behind us. Aren’t you afraid they will give you trouble?" Mia whispered into Carolline’s ear.
"They aren’t as unreasonable as you think." Still, Carolline was quite shocked by the Clark family’s reaction.
She had thought that even if they weren’t openly hostile, they wouldn’t remain so calm in her presence. However, they did treat her with composure - perhaps a result of their own brush with life and death.
"Hmm." To Mia, her impression of the Clark family remained as unfriendly as the first time she interviewed Charlotte Clark.
Moreover, she had been told in graphic detail about the event when the Clark family barged into the dean’s office, only fueling her distaste for them further.
