He tolerated her coming to see him, merely because she was in the midst of her confinement period after giving birth. Her body would gradually recover, and her father had said that even if she were missing half a leg, a prosthetic would make her a normal person again, right?

"Mom, she is your daughter-in-law, not a slutty woman. Please don’t talk about her like that." Cole Duncan couldn’t stand to listen anymore. In the following year, Lady Duncan worked three jobs instead of two to repay the money to their relatives. It was hard to get through those bitter days, and then she said her son was unfilial and forgot his mother after having a wife.
