Chapter 382: High-profile Etiquette (3)
Upon reaching the entrance of her unit, Avery Graham was busy rummaging for her keys in her bag with her head lowered. Some of the street lights in the residential area were broken, casting poor lighting around. She didn’t pay attention to the figure leaning against the wall next to her.
After seeing her, the person abruptly pulled her aside. In front of them was a large tree that conveniently concealed them from the sight of others.
"..." Avery’s eyes widened in surprise. Looking up and seeing Bernard Taylor, she suppressed her urge to scream and instead angrily questioned, "What are you doing?"
How on earth did this man get into the residential area? Even when Bernard followed her here last time, he stayed outside the entrance of the area. How would he know which unit she lived in and even stake out here? Was he out of his mind?
She didn’t scream because she knew Bernard wouldn’t hurt her like a villain. Her life wasn’t in danger.
"Are you really so eager to marry?" He had thought she was lying when she mentioned she was going to a blind date. But it seemed like she was telling the truth after all.
"...Aren’t you poking your nose a bit too much into my business? Dr. Taylor, I am not your nurse anymore," Avery responded, as she forcefully pulled her hand out of his grip. Her tone was icily distant.
"True, you are not my nurse anymore. But I met you first, so even if you’re going on a blind date, shouldn’t you follow the ’first come, first serve’ rule? Right?" Bernard let go of her hand. The next moment, he held her chin, gently forcing her head up. Then he leaned in, pressing his lips against hers.
At that moment, Avery was stunned. What on earth was Bernard doing?
Was he kissing her? But if he just presses his lips against hers without making any other movements, does it count as a kiss?
