"Head nurse, are you alright?" Lottie Mitchell saw Carolline Ruiz standing there in a daze and asked, "Do you know this patient?"
"I’ve seen him twice, but we’re not close." Carolline shook her head and then turned to leave.
As soon as the door opened, Carolline saw Andy Aguirre and knew he was on the night shift tonight.
"You were called in too; your uncle just left," Andy said to Carolline.
"Hmm, I know." Carolline figured if she had been called in, her father naturally would have been called too. "Let’s go to your office; I have something to ask you."
"Alright." The two went to Andy’s office and Carolline began, "Why is Dean Hawkins so concerned about these two patients?"
"You never used to care about such things?" Andy curiously looked at Carolline, who in the past wouldn’t have paid attention to these issues, let alone gossip about leaders or colleagues.
"Well, that was in the past!" Carolline rolled her eyes at him, just wanting to know whether it was the male or female patient that had a connection to Dean Hawkins.
"The woman is Dean Hawkins’ illegitimate daughter. Only my dad, your uncle, and I know about this," Andy revealed. He knew that telling Carolline would mean she wouldn’t spread the news, though she might lose some respect for Dean Hawkins. "Now there’s one more person who knows - you."
"I see. Like mother, like daughter," Carolline’s summary was slightly harsh.
