Chapter 321: Another Bad Thing (1)
The three of them returned home, and Axel excitedly packed all the things he had bought into his backpack, especially the two bags of delicate marshmallows. After double-checking that he had packed everything, he obediently went to the bathroom to take a bath and get ready for bed.
Carolline also went to take a bath first. After she finished, she consciously walked towards Axel’s room. Since Axel was back, she naturally planned to sleep with him.
Bryan Hawkins leaned against the head of the bed, watching his wife walk into their son’s room, and sighing in his heart. It seemed that he would be sleeping alone again tonight.
As Carolline pushed open Axel’s room door, the little guy had already very consciously climbed into bed. She smiled in satisfaction. But before her smile could fade, Axel sat up in bed and said, "Mom, I can sleep by myself at night now."
"Really? Have you gotten used to it already?" Carolline was happy. After all, Axel was almost six years old, and it would be inappropriate for her to continue sleeping with him. However, it was normal for him to take some time to adjust to this transition - he was just a child.
"Yes, I’ll get used to it eventually." Axel nodded, hugging the teddy bear next to him and preparing to lie down. "Alright, Mom, you can go back to your room and sleep now. Goodnight."
Mainly because he met Elena Duncan tonight and saw how sweet she looked with her parents, he was finally at ease. Previously, whenever he saw Elena at kindergarten with a sad face, he too felt unhappy.
"Alright, I’ll leave a small light on for you, and we can turn it off after you’ve adjusted for a few days, okay?" Since Axel had already said this, Carolline naturally agreed. After all, she wanted her Axel to grow up to be a little gentleman.
"No need, Mom." Axel waved his hand. It wasn’t that he was afraid of the dark; he was just not used to it before. After sleeping with the light for two weeks, it had already improved a lot.
