"What?" Axel didn’t understand the meaning of his dad’s words.
Carolline directly pinched Bryan Hawkins’s arm. It was one thing for him to say such words in front of her, but to say it in front of their child – was this how a father should act?
"Heh, hehe..." Bryan Hawkins chuckled softly. It was their turn to pay. After paying the bill, he led his wife and child out of the restaurant and headed to the underground parking lot.
In the parking lot, the three of them bumped into Cole Duncan again. However, Daisy Willow and Elena Duncan were no longer with him. Axel saw Cole and asked, "Uncle, where are Elena and Auntie?"
Cole didn’t expect to meet the family of three here. "Oh, our driver came to pick them up. I have some things to attend to and need to leave first."
Watching Cole’s hurried departure, Carolline and Bryan Hawkins seemed to understand what he was rushing for, but was it right to put his wife and child aside like this?
"Elena’s dad is always busy. Dad, is doing business really that hard? Just like you were before." For the first time, Axel realized that having a wealthy father wasn’t easy, and it was really hard for them as children.
The reason he and Elena became such good friends was that they both rarely got to see their fathers. His father flew all over the world, which was somewhat fine, but Elena’s father, even though he was in the country, often didn’t come home.
After each family interactive activity, the two children would feel sad for a while, comfort each other, and then become closer and closer friends.
Later, Axel’s father came back, and for the past half a month, Axel had been immersed in the happiness of having his father by his side, neglecting Elena for some time.
