"Mr. Wu is on the phone." Xavier Estrada handed his cellphone over to Bryan Hawkins.
"Hello, Mr. Wu," Bryan Hawkins took the phone, his tone formal.
"Mr. Hawkins, I’ve been waiting for your return. The last project you gave me was so successful that I’ve been wanting to treat you to a meal. However, you’ve been very busy. Now that you’re back, could you give me a chance? Let me host dinner tonight at your Emperory Grand Hotel. What do you think?"
Jeremy Auclair’s booming voice came through the phone speaker. He had been keeping an eye on Bryan Hawkins since their last collaboration, which had earned Jeremy a substantial profit. Having tasted the sweet fruits of cooperation, he had no plans to let go of this valuable connection.
He had to maintain a good relationship with this money tree to continue benefiting from it in the future.
So, last time he willingly helped Bryan deal with George Morris and his son, Bryan indeed delivered the promised benefits. Jeremy was now addicted to these gains and couldn’t give them up.
"Mr. Wu, you’re too polite. Currently, there are no projects on my hands that are suitable for collaboration with your Auclair Family. Why would you bother with the expense?" Bryan Hawkins always spoke his mind, except when it came to Carolline Ruiz.
At one point, he thought Carolline was always fearful in front of him. All things must come full circle; now it was his turn to feel frightened and hesitant when looking for her, especially not wanting to see her current state.
"Mr. Hawkins, can’t I just make friends with you? Am I inviting you to dinner just so you can give me a project? Don’t think too much about it; it’s a simple dinner with a few friends from our circle. Please, do me the honor?" Jeremy Auclair feigned discontent.
