But just as Joyce Lopez was reaching out her hand, Bryan Hawkins dodged it, "No need, I’m fine."
In the middle of the night, when Bryan Hawkins’ IV drip was finished, the nurse removed it and asked him to get some sleep. Hence, when he woke up in the morning, the IV bottle was no longer on his hand.
"By the way, thank you." Bryan Hawkins said his thanks to her anyway. After all, she did watch over him for the whole night, didn’t she?
"Brother Bryan, can you tell me why you had a fever? You’ve always been healthy, did something happen? Can you tell me?", Joyce Lopez eagerly expressed her concern for him.
However, what she didn’t know was that, from Bryan’s perspective, she was meddling too much. Even if she had watched over him for a night, it didn’t mean he had to report his whereabouts and private matters to her.
"Joyce Lopez, besides being the manager of my Hawkins Family’s Public Relations Department, you are also Grandpa Lopez’s beloved granddaughter in my eyes. Nothing more. I thank you for your hard work yesterday, but that won’t change anything between us, understand?"
Bryan Hawkins just looked at her, his reply firm and unwavering. He didn’t know what else he should say to her, but no matter how many times, his attitude towards her was the same.
She really didn’t need to waste her time on him - it’s unnecessary and wasteful.
