Domineering Love

Elijah Butler casually said, "I just went out, and my phone’s dead!"

"Where’s Cherish? Did she go home? I’ll go find her!" Yannis Griffith was about to leave, but was held back by Elijah Butler. She looked up at him and said softly, "She went out to take a break, she’s not at home! So, don’t go looking for her!"

"Taking a break? Alone? Where did she go?" Yannis Griffith asked again.

"She..." Elijah Butler hesitated, recalling Cherish Turner’s plea: Butler, don’t tell anyone I’m pregnant, or where I am now, and especially don’t tell Senior Yannis. I don’t want to see them anymore, I just want to be alone.

Yannis Griffith’s persistent gaze made Elijah Butler somewhat annoyed. She deliberately avoided his gaze and said with a smile, "She’s gone to stay with some relatives for a bit, wanting some peace. She’ll return in a few days."

"Could you tell me where her relatives live?" Yannis Griffith persisted.

"It’s not convenient, let her have her peace, she needs it." Elijah Butler shook her head, catching sight of his hopeful expression transforming into disappointment. Remembering Cherish Turner’s plea that day, Yannis Griffith decided to give her some space. He solemnly said, "Then I’ll wait, let me know when she’s back! Tell her for me, whatever she wants, I can provide!"

Elijah Butler was silent for a moment, then finally said, "Okay, I got it!"

Still faintly smiling, she watched as Yannis Griffith turned to leave. Other than a sigh, she had no other response. Elijah Butler retracted her gaze, went into her office, and made a phone call. She dialed a landline number, not a mobile number. The phone rang a few times before being answered, "Hello?"

"Auntie, let Cherish pick up."

"So it’s Butler, hold on a moment." The auntie immediately shouted for someone. After Cherish picked up, Elijah Butler said, "Cherish, Senior Yannis is back. I didn’t tell him where you are, I only told him that you’re staying with relatives for a bit. But he had a message for you."
