Chapter 550 - 549: Griffith’s Celebration
Having finally got out of bed, Cherish Turner stood in front of her mirror adjusting her clothes. William Griffith rose to his feet, his voice deep as he said, "I’ll pick you up tomorrow night."
Cherish assumed he meant after work, and didn’t give it much thought.
The next day after work, as promised, William Griffith came to pick her up. However, instead of taking her home, he brought her to a boutique. He left her in the care of the shop staff and Cherish was treated like a life-size doll, with people applying makeup and styling her hair. After a full hour, she emerged, looking completely transformed, in William Griffith’s line of sight.
With a frown, William Griffith stared at the low-cut dress and said sternly, "Change your dress! And it can’t be too revealing!"
"Yes, Young Master Griffith!"
So Cherish changed into another dress, pairing it with a pearl short skirt. Her makeup was flawless, her attire perfect. Everything was just right. Except for the shawl she was wearing; it was like a sore thumb that covered her beauty, looking comically odd. Oddly enough, William Griffith didn’t seem to mind and left the boutique with her, appearing satisfied.
Cherish called out to him, confused, "William Griffith?"
"Call me William."
Well then, she’d call him however he wanted. "William," she said. The name, for some reason, felt strangely intimate.
Not until their car reached a glittering five-star hotel, and William Griffith led her down the red carpet amidst admiring glances, did she snap out of it. She was so flabbergasted that she could barely compose herself.
Oh my God! It was the Griffith’s 30th Anniversary Gala!
Attending the 30th Anniversary Gala of the Griffiths were not only the executives of Griffith Corporation but also the four major shareholders. Naturally, Chairman Isaac Griffith, May Campbell, and the elders of the Griffith Family were present. The event saw a slew of celebrities from different sectors of Haicheng, including politicians and businesspeople, making it a lavish feast.
