Domineering Love

Chapter 492 - 491: Refusing Marriage

Since Cherish Turner returned from her trip, she hadn’t gone back to the training center for her piano lessons. Lucas Max, who taught Cherish piano, was an old friend of hers. It had been half a month since they last met when Lucas finally contacted Cherish to tell her he was going abroad for further studies and wouldn’t return to the country for a while.

They dined together in a restaurant, and this was Elijah Butler’s first encounter with Lucas Max.

Elijah always had a negative impression of men, but since Lucas was Cherish’s friend from high school, she could at least lower her guard. Over the course of the interaction, Elijah found out that Lucas appeared to treat Cherish as a source of comfort and solace, almost as though he was looking for someone else’s shadow.

The next day, Elijah bought a karaoke system and set it up in the living room.

Cherish looked confused as the two workers installed the karaoke system, then she asked, "Elijah, why did you buy a karaoke system?"

"To sing, of course!" Elijah immediately played a CD, the MV popped up on the screen, she cleared her throat, grabbed Cherish, and both of them held a microphone each and started singing. These were the songs their teachers taught them back in high school; some were rustic and a bit funny but brought them pure joy.

While the two were singing, someone knocked on the door.

Cherish opened the door only to find Daniel Peacock.

Upon seeing Elijah, Daniel frowned and asked unpleasantly, "What are you doing here?"

"Hey, hey, hey, sir! Just because you look decent doesn’t mean you can be so rude!" Elijah smiled at him with the microphone in hand, "I should be the one asking you, what are you doing here?"

Daniel clearly disliked the flirtatious Elijah, and it was written all over his face.
