Chapter 234: Do You Want Me to Haunt You?
Calix and Leslie headed to the Xu family’s ancestral home without informing anyone at that estate. The former just did a quick check, learning Andrian and Harper were out visiting their friends.
"This is our chance," said Calix after ending his call with the ancestral home, "Even if Mom and Dad know we’ll have a secret conversation with Grandma, they won’t ever pester us for details."
Andrian and Harper taught their children the importance of boundaries. If they learned the siblings sharing some secrets or anything like that, they would simply turn a blind eye.
It was the same with private journals. None of them snooped into their children’s bedrooms looking for their diaries.
Calix and Vernon didn’t care much about journals but, Evelyn was the opposite. She loved penning down her everyday life using cute notebooks and stationeries.
Andrian and Harper’s teaching made the siblings grateful. But, they still couldn’t help from feeling bad for keeping secrets sometimes.
"Then, let’s go now..." Leslie was quietly amazed by how good Andrian and Harper as parents were, "Perhaps, they’ll return... later this afternoon."
"Yes, let’s go."
Instead of having Logan or anyone else driving them, Calix sat behind the wheels while Leslie was seated in the front passenger seat. They didn’t bring Mrs. An along.
The time was a quarter past ten. The traffic on Sunday morning was smooth, allowing Calix and Leslie to reach Phoenix Heights quicker than expected.
"Calix... how should we start?"
