Chapter 143: The Faint Flicker of His Hope Burned Brighter Again
"Hey... I’m scared of Boss ah," Mr. Hao whispered to his colleague Mr. Tan, his tone was akin to a whisper, "Why did he... suddenly act like that?"
Mr. Tan blinked, wondering the same question. His gaze drifted to their boss’ private lounge. Even though no sound coming from its direction, the silence seemed to be very imposing.
"I’ve never seen him like that," Mr. Tan replied, frowning deeply. While tapping his chin, he exhaled a sigh, "It’s weird when he started looking for something but he didn’t tell us what."
"Yeah... then he began calling his private residence," Mr. Hao shook his head as he recalled their boss’ eccentric yet frightening antic, "I think I heard him telling the nurse to keep checking on his wife."
"Maybe Boss Xu had a nightmare about his wife? Who knows? After all, he has been away for a week."
Mr. Tan and Mr. Hao let out a collective sigh. Thinking about their boss’ peculiar behavior that started out of nowhere made them unable to sleep in peace.
Thankfully they had three days off due to the exhausting business trip. Two from the weekend days while the other fell Monday on the next day. They couldn’t afford to be away longer from work.
"I’m sleepy," Mr. Tan yawned, moving away from the corridor, "I wanna get some shut eye."
"Urgh... me too," Mr. Hao agreed, rubbing his drooping eyes, "Let’s just hope Boss Xu feels better before we land."
"Yeah, yeah. Come, bro."
Mr. Tan and Mr. Hao retreated to where their in-flight bedrooms were, wishing the time would turn faster.
