I Am Tired Of Being A Hero

Chapter 281: The kind of person he loved

If you should ask John about the best kind of job on Earth, he would tell you that he is working as a data analyst for the Hero Association of Fairview. Fairview was full of mountains making it the perfect place to station soldiers to protect the Capital thousands of years ago.

Armies and their family filled the town, causing various merchants to flock to the town. It was incredibly prosperous.

However, in modern times, Fairview is not as loved as it once was. Not while the glamorous ocean city, Lipton and the Capital were so close. But for John, Fairview was perfect.

Fairview was close enough to the Capital for the officials to belong to the Band A salary and yet far enough for housing and food to be very cheap. He lived in a two-bedroom apartment and yet he paid half the price that his girlfriend was paying for a studio in the Capital.

Another reason was that they did not have a high crime rate, which made his job very breezy.

He stood up and took his cup to the water dispenser.

He strode back leisurely, his eyes grazing over the monitor, what he saw next made his cup slip from his hand and fall on the phone.

John rushed back to the seat, clicking on the keyboard. It could not be right. But the levels were as clear as day on his screen. The energy pattern was one the system recognized.

John’s hands shook and he swallowed. He then reached for the large red button on his table, pressing it and sending a large siren sound around the entire building.

"We are under attack!"

As soon as he announced it, his eyes darted back to the computer in front of him, the second screen had started to light up. The red waves on the screen grew higher and higher with each passing millisecond.
