Chapter 31: Apprehending the Suspect
They had changed into normal workout clothes rather than their police uniform. They still had the bulletproof clothing underneath the top they wore making the top look rather bulky, something that Lisa did not hesitate to point out to Draco several times.
"His true form." She called it.
"Quiet," Emily said harshly as she stared outside the door. She had decided to go with them, they were in the police rapid response van and Sarah was driving.
Tariq was in the passenger's seat in front, the remaining five of them were sitting down, facing each other.
Emily was facing Lisa whose head hung low when she was scolded.
"She is a little nervous." Arlen gave an excuse for her as he fixed his gaze on Emily. Don't. He silently warned her.
Emily gritted her teeth and leaned back on the sofa. Closing her eyes in concentration, she focused on her ability. This was a mental exercise and the person who had taught her that the ability core was like a muscle was the one who was sitting right there, pretending that they had never been friends.
She hated him but she could admit that having him next to her brought back fond memories of their teenage years.
The windows were tinted, he could not even look out. Ravi signed and looked at his wristwatch. It was 3:53 p.m. He could tell that the hospital was about seven minutes away. His shift ended by 4 p.m.
