Chapter 207: Grandpa’s arrival
Everyone stiffened, especially Qiao Wen whose expression suddenly dropped.
Qiao Xue stopped clapping, and the whole room suddenly became eerily quiet as they watch Grandpa Qiao made his way down the marble staircase. Pulan’s parents stood by his side, offering support for the old man while the butler followed silently behind.
Pulan’s eyes watered as she spotted her mother and father coming down the stairs. It turns out what Qiao Wen had said wasn’t true.

Qiao Wen’s mother frantically gestured for her to return to her seat and for Qiao Xue to put her hands down. Qiao Tong approached them, standing shyly and appearing friendly though much earlier she didn’t bothered to stand by her sister.
"I see the whole family is here," Grandpa Qiao chuckled. He tried to ease the tension in the air.
Although old and frail looking, Grandpa Qiao still exuded an aura of authority and power coupled with his wisdom, he was known to be very scheming and cunning.
