Chapter 421: King and Queen
“What is it?” I asked, feeling a sense of worry stir in the pit of my stomach.
“I’m concerned about Logan,” the prince confessed in a whisper.
“Concerned? What is there for you to be concerned about? Is something wrong?” I bombarded him with questions, thinking there might be a threat to Logan’s safety. I had no idea why I felt that way, but I just had a very bad feeling.
“Remember when you asked me why I changed my mind about taking over the throne? I’m sorry, but I haven’t been entirely honest with you,” the prince said with a regretful look on his face.
“It’s fine. It must have been hard for you,” I said understandingly while wondering what had the prince feeling so concerned. “What is it about Logan?” I asked as I started to frown with worry.
“Logan is getting a lot better at controlling his transformations now, but he’s still too young for us to be sure about what will happen in his future,” Prince Leonard said.
It was true that our son had improved tremendously at controlling his transformations. That being said, he was still far from controlling his transformation freely based on his will. There were still instances where he would transform despite not wanting to. Similarly, there were times when he struggled to return to his human form after transforming into his wolf form. What Logan seemed to be good at was controlling his partial transformation whenever he wanted to transform only a part of his body.
Surprisingly, the person who had been lending Logan quite a lot of help in this respect was none other than Prince Darius. What surprised me even more was the fact that Prince Darius was the one who willingly volunteered to help us out with the issue of Logan’s transformation. Although Logan was still very young, Prince Darius managed to find interesting ways to teach Logan how he could better control his transformations. That was when I found out that Prince Darius had the best control over his wolf and its abilities out of the three brothers.
“Well, I guess that we should be thankful to Prince Darius and all the lessons he’s given Logan,” I said before I found myself smiling a little.
“Darius is really doing his best, and I have to say that Logan is benefiting so much from it. I wish that would be enough, but I’m talking a bit more long-term than just his youth. I’m talking about what his life would be like in the future or even further into the future when the next generation takes over after us,” the prince explained before coming to a pause.
I thought that perhaps it was only natural that, as parents, we would be more concerned about the future now that we knew our son would be living in it, even if at that time we might already be gone from this world. That was probably why many people were very concerned about ensuring that the world becomes a better place for future generations. Despite thinking that, I wasn’t sure what specifically the prince was so worried about. Logan was a very healthy and happy child, and despite his unusual abilities, I couldn’t quite imagine him having a very difficult life given the support from the royal family.
