Instead of feeling relief, I winced at the sound of the prince’s voice. I guess I should have gone into hiding if I wanted to avoid him for real instead of just sitting here on a bench in the garden out in the open.

“Your Highness...” Madame Sand said with clear surprise before she quickly bowed to show her respect.
It would have been a disaster for me if she found out the truth that I had run out here to escape the prince. Although I didn’t think that it was my fault, I also knew that Madame wouldn’t think the same way. As far as I was concerned, this was all Prince Leonard’s fault for telling me all those things all of a sudden. It was shocking enough for me to believe that he was a wolf, not to mention everything he told me about Ultimate Alphas and how honorable maidens are supposed to produce them.
Then there was that super important detail on the three princes’ battle for the throne where the deciding factor would be which out of them would have an Ultimate Alpha son first. I found that to be the craziest thing out of them all and I was so shocked and scared.
