Chapter 72: Hurtful Accusations
I wanted to tell him that my clothes wouldn’t be in this state if he didn’t pull and tear at them. However, I couldn’t reply to him. Just looking into his cold blue eyes scared me like never before.
Although it seemed like the prince had regained control of himself, his kindness was completely gone. Instead, I felt cornered and intimidated by him.
“Are you just like the rest of them?” he asked as his eyes narrowed at me.
I had yet to learn what he was talking about or whom he was referring to.
“What are you...saying?” I asked blankly.
Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and yanked roughly on my arm. I cried out in shock at his sudden action. The prince got up from the bed while dragging me along with him. I found myself on my feet next to the bed with the prince glaring down at me. His hold on my wrist tightened, and it started to hurt.
“Please...let me go...” I whimpered as I tried to pull my arm away from his grip.
My attempt to break away was far from triumphant. Instead of letting me go, the prince backed me against the wall. I felt the hardness of the wall against my back, and then he was right in front of me. His much larger frame trapped me between him and the wall like some cornered prey as his eyes stared mercilessly down into my face. His blue eyes seemed darker than usual, and it felt like a storm raged in the depths of his ocean-blue eyes.
“Prince Leonard...” I whimpered his name as my fear started to take over.
