Chapter 714: Right???
It took Dr. Feng a whole night to deal with the military procedure. Fortunately, no other mishaps happened and the other researchers were not stupid enough to reveal Zachary and Lu Yizhou’s presence when it was evident that the Head Administrator himself intended to hide them. Or in other words, they did not dare to offend him at all.
As for the traitor, in consideration that he was only used by the enemies to gather information, Dr. Feng only chose to fire him and ban him from any future position in the institute. Losing his position as the researcher in the Capital Planet’s most advanced institute was already the most severe punishment Dr. Feng could mete out.
Relieved, he left Dr. Xiao to deal with the aftermath and drove to the house outside the heart of the city to check on both his patients.
He had thought that they would still be resting after a long arduous day. Yet to his utter surprise, he found one of them sitting in the living room with a cup of steaming coffee while reading the news about yesterday’s ’terrorist attack’ in his terminal.
Dr. Feng paused in the doorway. For a second, he thought that he was hallucinating due to the severe lack of sleep. He rubbed his eyes, but the scene in front of him remained unchanged. He checked the time and found that it was only six in the morning. He recalled that he had specifically advised Lu Yizhou to stay in the medical cabin for a full twenty four hours to ensure that his burn wounds would not get infected. So what the hell was this person doing out here?!
Lu Yizhou noticed Dr. Feng’s presence and did not look surprised at all. He gave a subtle nod of acknowledgement. "Good morning, Dr. Feng. Do you want a cup of coffee?"
Dr. Feng tried and tried to endure, but in the end he could not help but curse under his breath. He raked his fingers through his hair, further messing up his crooked ponytail before striding into the living room. "Goddamnit, I knew that I shouldn’t have–" His words abruptly halted when he caught sight of the metal trash bin beside Lu Yizhou’s feet.
Aside from the leftover sachet of instant coffee, there were lots – and he really meant it by saying a whole lot – of bandages that were tainted in old and new bloodstain. Dr. Feng’s face paled due to anger, but in the end his concern over this man won over everything and he scanned Lu Yizhou’s body anxiously, "What’s wrong? Why is there so much blood?!"
"Sshh, please lower your volume," Lu Yizhou glanced at the closed bedroom with a frown. "Zeke needs a lot of rest."
Oh there was nothing wrong with Lu Yizhou’s words, nothing at all. Yet for some reason, when Dr. Feng connected two and two together, an inconceivable possibility surfaced in his mind. The corner of his lips twitched. "You didn’t climb out of the medical cabin to move into his room, right?"
They should not be that desperate... right???
