Chapter 19:Questing [4]
An awakened.
From those inhumane reflexes alone, I could tell Liana wasn't just a normal bartender...no normal human could have reflexes that fast.
While I reevaluated my view of the seemingly kind and caring girl in front of me, Liana sighed and sat down across from me.
Alternating glances between the piping hot plate of food in front of me and my face, she eventually asked, breaking the silence.
"If you're not hungry, I'll gladly take the plate."
Staying true to her words, Liana reached out her hands and grabbed the edges of my plate...however she didn't make any attempts to pull my plate toward her.
Was she trying to get a reaction out of me or something?
Sighing, I tilted my head at her and closed my eyes.
The terrible smell of the humans around me was filling my nose. My horns could be revealed at any time if someone decided to pull down my hood or a sudden gust of wind appeared.
To top it all off, the protagonist of the book and my future killer was only a couple of steps away.
It was simply too much.
