I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl

Chapter 515 - 512 – Mass Awakening of the Colossi

Sylvia’s words that still echoed amid the bone-dust storm had not yet fully faded when the Primordial ground shook once more. This tremor was far deeper, far heavier as if the entire continent of tombs was drawing its final breath before unleashing a rage that had slept for thousands of years. The dust that had only just begun to settle shot high into the air again, forming gray vortices that blotted out the sky. The miasma wind, which normally only whispered, now raged like a living creature in fury, carrying the stench of ancient bones, dried blood, and earth that had decayed across countless eras.

From behind the thick fog in every direction, the previously mere silhouettes of giants began to move. Not one. Not two. But five... six... eight Colossi rising at once from their sleeping positions. Some were still half-buried in bone mounds the size of small mountains, while others stood upright with the horrifying creak of bone and stone, as if the joints of those giants were groaning after a long slumber. The ground cracked beneath their feet, creating new chasms that swallowed the remains of smaller skeletons.

Stacia swallowed hard. Her mana analysis screen, which had previously shown only one target, was now filled with endless blinking red warnings. The holographic light reflected on her pale face, making her usually sharp eyes look anxious. "Eight... eight Titans at once," she whispered, her voice hoarse from the dust that had entered her throat. "Their levels range from 370 to 410. And... they’re interconnected. There’s an ancient mana network binding them into a single formation. It’s as if they are pieces of one giant body that has been split apart."

Alicia tightened her grip on her magic staff. The golden light at its tip trembled unstably, as if sensing the intensifying cosmic gravitational pressure. "This is insane. Just one nearly finished us. Eight at once... We haven’t even fully recovered from the previous battle." Her hands trembled slightly not purely from fear, but from the realization of how thin their chances were. Her sacred domain still felt warm beneath her feet, yet she knew it would not be enough.

Sylvia stood atop the ruins of the Colossus arm they had just destroyed, her black hair whipping in the miasma wind. The wild smile on her face did not fade in the slightest, even though both her hands still trembled from residual fatigue from the earlier fight. The small wounds on her body had already begun to close thanks to her undead regeneration, but the ache and mana hunger still tormented her. "Good," she said softly, almost like a whisper only her two sisters could hear. "If Mother Persephone wants to test us until we go mad, then so be it. We will not run. This tomb is our battlefield today."

She raised her hand. Chains of Abyss emerged once more from the shadows around her feet, this time more numerous, darker, and hungrier. The black chains spread like ravenous snakes, producing a terrifying clinking sound amid the rumble of the earth. The Rapier of Night appeared in her right hand, its blade pulsing with dense death aura, as if anticipating the blood and cores it would devour.

"Death Triangle Formation," Sylvia ordered in a now firmer voice. "Alicia, your sacred domain in the center as the anchor. Stacia, real-time trajectory prediction and weak points. I will be the blade that cuts them down one by one. Do not let them coordinate for too long."

Alicia nodded firmly despite her pale face. "Domain: Sanctuary of the Dying Light!"

A circle of white-golden light exploded from beneath her feet, forming a safe zone three kilometers in diameter. Inside the domain, the cosmic gravity weakened slightly, giving them room to breathe. Lotuses of light bloomed in the air, their petals sparkling like living crystals, ready to unleash sacred chains at any moment. The air within the domain felt lighter; the miasma’s stench was slightly muted by the soft yet powerful fragrance of sanctity.

Stacia quickly opened her grimoire. Thirteen holographic screens reappeared, this time arranged in a circle around her. The blue light from the screens illuminated her concentrated face. "Beginning mass scan. I need ten seconds to map all their mana circuits. Don’t let them get too close too fast!"

Those ten seconds felt like ten years. Every second was counted by hearts that beat faster and faster.

The newly risen Colossi began to move. The closest was a Titan in the form of a dragon skeleton with broken bone wings that could still generate storm winds. Beside it stood a Colossus with a featureless face, its body made of black stone veined with red, as if ancient blood flowed through the cracks. The third was even more horrifying: half rotting flesh, half skeleton, with hundreds of small arms sprouting from its back like living, hungry tree roots. Their empty eyes glowed with a faint red light, signaling the ancient consciousness that had just awakened.

They did not attack randomly. Their movements were terrifyingly coordinated. Three of them raised their hands simultaneously, gathering the same gravitational energy as the previous attack. Two others opened their jaws and spewed thick black miasma fog capable of eroding mana; the fog moved like living creatures seeking prey.

"They’re attacking together!" Stacia shouted, her fingers flying across the grimoire. "Three gravity attacks from different directions in 2.4 seconds! Two miasma from left and right!"

Sylvia did not wait. She shot forward, leaving a sonic boom that sent dust flying. Chains of Abyss spread in every direction like a black spiderweb, anchoring into the feet of several Colossi to disrupt their balance. The chains pierced bone and stone, producing horrifying creaks.

BOOOOM!

Three gravitational energy orbs were fired almost simultaneously. Their shockwaves cracked the ground even deeper. Sylvia swung the Rapier of Night, cutting one of them with Devouring Void. A small black hole appeared in the air, swallowing the gravitational energy until it vanished. Alicia fired a mini Spear of Longinus to split the second; the light spear cleaved the gravity orb in two before it exploded far from the domain. The third was narrowly avoided thanks to Stacia’s prediction, but its residual shockwave still struck Alicia’s domain hard enough to crack it, causing several light lotuses to wither instantly.

"My domain is almost breaking!" Alicia cried. She immediately poured in more mana, her face tight with concentration. "Stacia, how much longer?!"

"Seven seconds! Their weak points are different! The dragon one keeps its core in the throat. The stone one in the left chest. The rotting flesh one... in the lower back! Their mana network supports each other, so we have to sever them one by one!"

Sylvia laughed wildly amid the storm of attacks. Her laughter sounded mad, yet there was firmness in it. She leaped from one Chain of Abyss to another, using the chains as footholds in the air. Her black claws slashed the stone Colossus’s arm, severing two giant fingers at once. Black miasma sprayed from the wound, but this time it could not form parasitic cocoons because Alicia immediately burned it with a rain of light swords that fell like a storm.

"Don’t let them form parasites again!" Sylvia ordered. "Alicia, focus the domain around their feet! Burn the ground!"

Alicia obeyed. Her white domain contracted into a denser form, then exploded outward in a holy wave that scorched the earth around the Colossi’s feet. Newly forming parasites died before they could hatch, hissing like water touching fire.

The dragon-skeleton Colossus swung its bone wings. Sharp winds equivalent to a high-level storm swept the area, carrying bone dust that stung the skin. Stacia was nearly thrown; her grimoire almost slipped from her grasp, but Sylvia’s abyss chain pulled her back into the domain just in time. "I need more time!" Stacia shouted, cold sweat soaking her forehead. "There are too many of them! Data overload! Their mana circuits are interlinked like a spiderweb!"

Sylvia landed on the shoulder of the stone Colossus. She drove the Rapier of Night deep, then spun her body, creating a small black hole that sucked a portion of the Titan’s mana. The energy flowed into her body, giving a slight refreshment amid the exhaustion. "You don’t need to process everything at once, Stacia! Give me one priority target!"

"The rotting flesh one! Its core is the most unstable because of excessive regeneration! If we destroy it first, their formation will waver!"

Sylvia immediately switched targets. She kicked off the stone Colossus’s shoulder with a blow that shattered the giant bone, producing a horrifying creak, then shot toward the putrid-flesh Titan. Hundreds of small arms on the creature’s back tried to grab her; the rotting fingers moved swiftly like snakes, but Chains of Abyss severed them one by one at terrifying speed. Each cut released a nauseating stench.

"Eclipse Rend!"

Sylvia stabbed directly into the Titan’s lower back. Her claws pierced the soft, sticky rotting flesh and found the unstable, pulsing core crystal. This time she did not wait. She crushed it with a single full-powered fist, pouring all her remaining rage and determination into it.

KRAAAAK!

The putrid-flesh Colossus let out a final roar before its body exploded from within, spraying a rain of flesh and bone in every direction. Rotting pieces fell like rain; some struck Alicia’s domain and burned instantly. A system notification appeared before Sylvia’s eyes, glittering amid the chaos.

[You have defeated Primordial Colossus of Putrid Flesh (Level 378)]

[Received 38,200,000 EXP]

[Level Up! Level 254]

Only one level remaining. Sylvia had no time to celebrate. Two other Colossi were already swinging their arms toward her, gravitational energy gathering once more.

Alicia and Stacia worked together perfectly. Alicia created a line of light spears to hold back the attacks, while Stacia fired Absolute Mass Amplification at one Titan’s feet, making it collapse under its own weight. The ground beneath that Titan cracked violently, causing it to stagger.

"Two more!" Stacia shouted. "I’ve found their pattern! They move in an inverted triangle formation! Destroy the one in the center and the others will falter! Their mana network will temporarily sever!"

Sylvia did not answer with words. She only grinned wider. Her body was covered in small wounds, her mana had dropped below 40 percent, yet her eyes burned brighter than before. She ignored the blood at the corner of her lips.

"Good," she hissed. "Let’s shatter their formation completely."

She recalled every scattered Chain of Abyss, forming them into a giant black spear in front of her body. Alicia layered sacred light onto the tip of the spear, making it gleam black-and-gold. Stacia calculated the perfect trajectory; her holographic screens displayed the ideal angle and speed.

The combined spear was launched.

BOOOOOOM!

The resulting explosion shook the entire area once more. One Colossus at the center of the formation was completely destroyed, its body split in two. The two Titans beside it staggered heavily, losing coordination as their mana network cracked for a moment.

But in the distance, even more silhouettes began to move. The fog grew thicker, the footsteps of giants continued to thunder like ancient war drums. Their numbers were not decreasing. They were increasing. It was as if this tomb had no end.

Sylvia landed beside Alicia and Stacia, breathing hard. The three of them looked at one another. No one spoke. They all knew this was only the beginning. Wounds, fatigue, and gravitational pressure grew heavier, yet their resolve had not broken.

From the thickening fog, the footsteps of giants continued to rumble. Sylvia wiped the blood from the corner of her lips, then laughed softly. Her laugh sounded hoarse, yet it was filled with blazing determination.

"Come," she said in a rough but spirited voice. "We’re not finished emptying this tomb yet. If Mother wants a trial this heavy, we will pass it our own way."

The mass battle had only just entered a far crueler stage. The miasma wind grew stronger, the bone dust thicker, and the shadows of Colossi kept appearing from every direction. Yet in the middle of that chaos, three sisters stood tall, ready to face whatever would come.
