Jeremy Night observed the beasts. He was a little bit surprised in his heart. The entire city, the people, and the Beast Tamers were overturned by the Beast Tide incident.

Yet, this small group of dog-corrupted beasts had survived the battle. He didn't even know whether this beast group had participated in the attack or not.

Just as he was observing the beasts, the beasts were observing him as well. They were all mixed together without any leader.

The Tier-3 and Tier-4 beasts were there in good numbers. Right then, a Tier-4 beast snarled and charged at him.

Jeremy's gaze didn't leave the beast. He gripped the handle.

He didn't want to wipe out the whole group, because the lower-tier beasts were good practical sparring partners for beginner Beast Tamers.

If they were wiped out, then the beginner Beast Tamers wouldn't have any beasts left to gain experience from.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, the beast reached him and leaped to attack. Jeremy's eyes caught every detail.

The beast may have been fast, but its movements appeared slow in his eyes. Just as the beast's wide mouth was about to reach his neck—

Cut!

Jeremy's wrist twisted as he sidestepped. The blade cut through the neck, making a clean strike. The headless body dropped to the ground. It happened fast.

After killing the beast, he looked at the others. He wanted to know whether they dared to continue the attack.

To his surprise, the beasts didn't continue. They started leaving one after another.

He was not surprised when the last beasts left the place. He turned around and resumed his journey. Fighting against lower-tier beasts didn't bring him any joy at all.

His expression was solemn. The real danger was the higher-tier beasts. These higher-tier beasts could become future Tier-9 beasts, which could bring terror to the city again.

He felt the urgency and the need to collect more resources as soon as possible. He couldn't afford to waste time in the organisation.

He then collected his thoughts and started looking for the wild boar. Though the mission appeared to be some kind of formality, he decided to try his best to complete it.

The City Governors were in the administration building, discussing the rebuilding efforts in the city. While Orion and Leon were paying attention, Martin was spacing out for some reason.

Orion and Leon noticed it. They thought he would recover, but Martin continued zoning out.

"Martin, what happened?" Orion asked.

Martin then returned to reality. He looked at the others, seeing that Orion and Leon were watching him.

He said, "I don't know why, but I'm having this bad feeling that we are not safe yet."

Hearing that, the faces of Orion and Leon changed drastically. They looked into each other's eyes. They hadn't told anyone, but deep down, they had this feeling as well.

"Martin, you are not wrong. I've been having these thoughts lately. Especially after the warning given by the Lord from the Human Alliance," Orion replied.

"So, I'm not alone either," Leon added.

"Since everyone has the same thought, why don't we take turns watching over the border of the unexplored area?" Martin proposed.

In this way, everyone could be at ease. Even if another beast tide occurred, they could act swiftly to wipe them out.

Orion and Leon fell into contemplation. The idea was sound. They agreed in the end.

"Since I proposed the idea, I'm going to watch over the border first," Martin said.

The others agreed. It didn't take long for the meeting to come to an end. They made a decision not to tell others about it.

Shortly afterwards, Martin left the office. He then secretly left the city and entered the wilderness. He saw that the wilderness was calm.

He could only spot some Beast Tamers here and there. The wilderness was mostly empty, without any corrupted beasts roaming freely.

The vast majority of the beasts had been killed in the battle. He thought it would take time for the wilderness to recover as well.

He then headed to the border. On the way, he observed the area. The wilderness was quiet; there didn't seem to be any beasts lurking.

He quickly reached the border. Unlike the frontline, the scene at the border area was different.

The ground was littered with corpses, the bodies of the beasts they had slain. Martin stood in mid-air.

He frowned. After the incident, he hadn't come back. Only Lord Ambrose from the Human Alliance had come to this place.

He didn't know what Lord Ambrose had found that made him warn Governors like them.

He wanted to go inside the unexplored area to investigate, but he was a Tier-8 Beast Tamer. By going inside the unexplored area, he could come across a Tier-9 corrupted beast.

He shook his head. He decided to monitor the place first. Standing there, he could feel the uneasiness.

Time passed.

Jeremy Night found the wild boar in the inner area. It was a single wild boar with Tier-2 strength. Seeing it, he didn't waste time. He didn't use the katana blade; instead, he used a handgun.

Bang!

He fired a single shot at the wild boar, which pierced the head and exited through the back. The wild boar's life came to an end.

Jeremy then put the corpse inside the container and stored it inside his ring. A smile appeared on his face. He felt better now.

If he had stayed cooped up in his room, his mind would have felt weighed down by his own thoughts. He had made the right decision to enter the wilderness.

Meanwhile, the Darkshade organisation's team had left their hideout. They were looking for Jeremy Night. This time, their organisation's reputation was at stake.

They had to eliminate the target at all costs. They also had a rare opportunity this time; not many Beast Tamers had entered the wilderness after the battle.

This allowed them to move freely and widen their search. In this way, they could locate the target faster.
