An Ran was secretly delighted and just about to call her when she heard the sound of a key turning in the lock from outside.
Then, Mu Xingfeng pushed the door open and walked in, "Honey, I’m back."
An Ran glanced at the wall clock, it was just lunch time at the cafeteria, and it seemed like he had come straight home from the team.
"Wasn’t the entire Guard Team supposed to have a celebration banquet at the cafeteria? How come you’re back?" An Ran said, already getting up, "I thought you’d eat at the cafeteria, I haven’t cooked yet."
Mu Xingfeng reached out to stop the little one heading towards the kitchen, held her in his arms and kissed her smooth forehead, "It’s okay, if you haven’t cooked, we can go eat at the cafeteria later, just let me hold you for a bit."
An Ran stuck her little head out from his embrace and looked up at him, "What’s up? Is there something wrong?"
Those wet eyes, filled with confusion and puzzlement, melted Mu Xingfeng’s heart, "Nothing, I just missed you."
He genuinely missed her. If he was in constant high alert on the battlefield, it wouldn’t matter, but this time, after returning and just observing from the rear, just thinking about a little wife waiting for him at home made the whole exercise seem dull.
Just saying he missed her, a simple sentence, was enough to make An Ran’s calm heart beat wildly.
She missed him too, really really did.
It wasn’t until An Ran’s stomach made a grumbling sound that Mu Xingfeng released the girl. Forehead pressed against hers, he smirked, "Hungry?"
An Ran rubbed her stomach, "Didn’t feel it earlier, now it’s purely because of your kisses making me hungry."

"Go change your clothes, we’ll go to the cafeteria to eat." Mu Xingfeng gave her a pat and sat on the sofa waiting for her.
When An Ran had changed her clothes and came out, she saw Mu Xingfeng staring at the trash can at home. Inside were the trash she hadn’t had time to throw out today, and suddenly alarms rang in her head. Just as she was about to escape back to the bedroom, Mu Xingfeng’s low voice came, "An Ran, come here."
He called her An Ran, not Ranran or honey, which meant An Ran knew the issue was serious.
Turning around, she saw Mu Xingfeng’s deep eyes fixed on her.
Honestly, Mu Xingfeng’s eyes were truly beautiful, that deep dark, still sparkling. When he smiled, the corners of his eyes slightly lifted with a bit of crow’s feet, and the light in his eyes flickered.
But when he was serious, those dark eyes were unfathomably deep, and the light in them was particularly captivating, even making her scalp tingle.
Ultimately, An Ran shuffled over in small steps, laughed awkwardly, "Hubby, I’m really hungry, when are we leaving?"
Mu Xingfeng ignored her words, pointed at the trash can and said, "An Ran, have you let my words go in one ear and out the other?"
An Ran followed his hand to look at the trash can, inside was a pile of snack wrappers and ice cream wrappers, the snack wrappers included her favorite chocolate pies and some other off-brand ice creams.
Not her fault for being careless, she really didn’t expect Mu Xingfeng to check the trash can, and she wasn’t as diligent as Mu Xingfeng when buying ice cream. She just picked a couple with nice packaging, only realizing when she got home that they were a brand she hadn’t heard of. Anyway, she bought them so not eating would be wasteful, so she ate them.
An Ran rolled her eyes and finally said, "Those are someone else’s, yeah, someone else’s. They were eaten by Liu Hu and Vice President Huo. It’s so hot, when guests come, you have to entertain them."
