Common Sense Hijack System

Chapter 92

Karl stood frozen, staring at his father, who was now awake, his body appearing younger and brimming with energy. The strange glow surrounding David slowly faded, leaving the room filled with an oppressive atmosphere. Medical instruments lay scattered on the floor, and the monitors displayed numbers incomprehensible to modern technology.

David stepped forward, each movement light yet powerful. His gaze swept the room, pausing briefly on Karl’s pale and tense face. Something was different about him. The usual calm aura he radiated was now replaced by something more intense, almost terrifying.

"Why has this power returned?" David muttered, his deep voice filled with a mix of confusion and a faint edge of menace.

"F...Father?" Karl finally spoke, his body trembling as he took a step back. "What’s happening? I just... I was just trying to save you."

David fixed his sharp gaze on his son, but a small smile played at the corners of his lips. He saw the fear reflected in Karl’s eyes and softened his stance. He let out a long sigh, raising his hand and staring at his glowing palm before it returned to normal.

"You’ve awakened me, Karl. But you’ve also awakened something that should have stayed buried," he said, his tone more melancholic than threatening.

Karl tried to steady himself, but his mind was a whirlwind of questions. "Father, I... the system...," Karl struggled to explain. "I mean, I have something, and it said there’s cosmic energy in your body. That it’s been dormant for years. What... what’s really happening to you?"

Before David could answer, hurried footsteps echoed in the corridor. The door burst open, and Vincent appeared, his face full of shock.

"Karl! What have you done? The monitoring equipment showed energy activity that... My God, this can’t be!" Vincent froze when his eyes met David, who now stood tall, emanating an indescribable aura.

David turned toward Vincent, raising an eyebrow as if evaluating the man who had just entered. "And who is this?" he asked, his tone casual yet authoritative.

"I... I’m Vincent. Director of Glowsphere," Vincent stammered. "But... how is this possible? You were supposed to be in a coma. No one could wake someone in your condition—"
