The loud chime of the emergency alarm screamed through every corner of Moonlake Bastion.
It wasn't a subtle warning. It was a shrill, ear-splitting sound that could make even the calmest person's heart skip a beat.
Then came the announcement.
The voice of Commander Veylen, the topmost official of Moonlake Bastion, echoed across every speaker, every screen, every device in the city.
His normally cold, composed voice was filled with something no one expected; regret.
"To all citizens of Moonlake Bastion..."
The room fell silent.
"It is with the greatest sorrow that I must announce... the Bastion will enter a full emergency evacuation."
The words hit like a punch to the chest.
"All citizens are to gather at the Central Port immediately and prepare for departure. Evacuation will proceed based on citizenship priority levels. Please remain calm and orderly..."
The announcement didn't finish before the chaos began.
