While this sort of coincidence sounded unbelievable, it was the only suggestion that made sense; how else would an Adept mage have better sensing abilities than her who was in the Expert mage rank?
She turned her gaze away and focused on the rest of the group.
Alex glanced at her at this moment and a small grin formed on his face. He could guess what she was thinking but he wasn’t an idiot to get caught so easily.
During the past hours, Alex had pointed more at empty places more times than he had pointed out the camouflaging earth golems. This was to make it appear like he was really pointing randomly because he was nervous, and any odd-looking rock made him uncomfortable, and even after he was repeatedly told not to be nervous Joan and the others, he didn’t stop.
"I don’t know if I should consider your nervousness a good thing or a bad thing, but you sure are the best beast detector I’ve ever seen." Joan glanced at Alex and said with a giggle.
The others also laughed at this.
"It’s hard to even tell that the youngest is nervous, he looks very calm."
"It’s alright to be nervous, anyone would naturally be nervous the first time they leave the city."
"True, true. The youngest is doing better than expected, he isn’t screaming or trembling like some people."
