"What is it?" Alex asked; his tone wasn’t friendly in the slightest, but Lilian acted like she didn’t notice. She stopped in front of Alex and tried to hold his hand but Alex moved his hand away, letting the girl miss.
Lillian giggled at his action, she didn’t appear awkward.
"Why is senior Alex avoiding me? Did I do something wrong?" Lilian asked, wearing a clueless face with a finger on her lower lip.
But Alex just stared down at her with a cold gaze. He had to admit that this girl was rather cute, but that was what allowed her to easily manipulate others; he would have fallen for her act if he didn’t already have experience with her.
Well, not technically him but it didn’t matter.
Without saying another word, Alex tried to move around her and continue towards the door but the girl stepped in front of him. She now had a sad expression, sad puppy eyes, and trembling lips, it was as if she was about to cry.
"Senior Alex, please wait. Are you still angry at me about last time? But I only did it so that those people would stop bullying and senior Nora, I didn’t really mean what I said." Nora spoke quickly, her tone was very sincere as she stared at Alex right in the eyes.
’She is such a good actress, she should stop being a mage and go act instead.’ Alex thought to himself.
"Then why are you here now?" He inquired.
Lilian’s expression immediately took a drastic change upon hearing Alex’s question. Her fingers played with her hair, and she lowered her gaze to Alex’s waist level; she appeared very shy.
"Well, I saw that Senior Alex isn’t like before anymore and can no longer be bullied by being my friend, so I thought we could go back to how we used to be. I’ve been very lonely in the academy since I stopped following Senior Alex and Senior Nora, but I had to keep my distance to protect both of you." She explained.
