The Greatest Mecha

Chapter 17: An Unpredictable Ending

Kram stood there in shock as he watched Vexar tumble to the ground, blood trickling from his neck. In that moment he realised what his opponent Amy was doing, to her this was no test. It was a battle where one could die at any given time.

He wondered if she was passing him a message to take things seriously, if she was, would he be able to. Despite being a male he knew she would easily overpowered him in terms of physicality and flexibility. Kram knew that to win he would have to hone every second of his training into this moment.

The only advantage he had was that he knew her from her roots, and so did she. Amy had always been unpredictable so to sum it all up he knew he was going to have a rough win.

Pedro Lascara the officer in charge of the test had just witnessed a level of brutality that should not exist in the mind of trainees. In front of his eyes was not a test but a battle, the dominator was as ferocious as her name presumed. To him the chances of the sniper winning would have been low if not for a slight advantage.

The dominator's armour was close to falling apart and a few decisive shots would do the trick. As much as he felt pressured to end the fight and pull away the body of the assasin he had to hold off for a few more seconds. He wanted to see the final results of the battle.

Back in the center of the training room, the remnants of some mech pieces remained on the ground and with it the two remaining contenders for the number one spot remained.

They stayed there motionless for seconds, the dominator holding up a stance similar to boxing with the blades on the mech suit visible. Her face could be seen throught the cracked helmet and it was slightly burned.

The sniper managed to find two plasma rifles he had found, his mech was in a much better state but he knew better than to bet on that. Light Mechs were anything but sturdy and since they were second generation Mechs they would be losing their ability to function quite soon, he would decide his final attack in one shot.

As if ignited by the sound of a pin dropping Amy charged forward in her shadow dancer, her advance pattern came as a shock to officer Pedro Lascara.

"That girl she's one clever trainee." He remarked, only managing to hide some of his shock.

Amy did not charge straight forward, instead she darted in a zig zag motion as she approached her target. At first it looked simple but the moment she strode to one side she would kick off the ground with the full extent of her Mechs strength making her zig zag motion seem five times faster and hard to predict. If she wanted to avoid being shot while closing the gap she was doing the right thing.
