Chapter 4: Back at Home
After getting home, Chu Miao found her grandfather waiting at the door to welcome her. His butler and friend of over forty years stood next to him.
The butler had been his subordinate and friend when he was in the military and after retirement as a general he followed him and became his most trusted butler.
In the inherited memories, Chu Miao knows that the butler had always treated her and her brother like his own grandchildren, especially since he doesn’t have a family of his own.
As soon as she got out of the car, her grandfather walked faster towards her and almost tripped. She rushed to support him and held his arm.
"Grandpa, slow down. What will we do if you fall?"
"I can’t help it Bunny, how are you feeling? Do you feel any pain? Do you need grandpa to do anything for you?" He bombarded her with questions, but she knew he was only worried about her. So, she just smiled and replied to his questions.
"I’m feeling good, grandpa. I have recovered so I am not in any pain, and apart from accompanying grandpa, you don’t need to do anything for me."
After her reply, she turned to the butler and greeted him too. "Hello second grandpa." Because the butler had always been treated as a member of the family nobody addressed him as a butler. Her father and mother call him uncle.
"Hello Bunny, it’s good that you are home. I had your favorite food prepared. Go up and freshen up then lunch will be ready."
