Arabella was beginning to feel embarrassed and overwhelmed by her husband’s thoughts again. Who would have expected Ferdinand to have these kinds of thoughts even when they had just met?
She, on the other hand, was just so terrified at that time and so relieved someone came to save them.
But she wondered what he meant by hearing her voice. He thought about it the last time they talked about this too.
’Did my voice sound familiar to him because of our previous life?’
"You were so pretty back then too," Ferdinand caressed her lips.

Arabella learned from his thoughts that Ferdinand was so confused about what he was feeling, especially since he didn’t want to leave her side at all. He wanted to keep looking at her even when she caught him staring several times. As they escorted her to Lobelius, Ferdinand sorted out how he was feeling (with much help from the experienced Raymond). And Ferdinand concluded he wanted to marry Arabella.
"You even gave me your bracelet and hairpin," Ferdinand glanced at the hairpin she was wearing and touched it as he recalled the one she gave him before. (Rather, he asked for it when she was about to have it discarded.)
"Oh, right. I heard you still have them?"
He was so close to her that it was so distracting. Since when did he smell so good?
"Yes. They’re in my room."
