Chapter 215: Black Decision
The O’Brien’s Mansion
"What are you gonna do? You’re not gonna do what Anubis said will you?" Iris said worried.
Riley had already briefed her on what Anubis said, it seemec they were facing a foe far intense than any they have had in the past.
Iris knew Riley was now placed in a difficult situation. Eden’s life was in danger but sacrificing another didn’t feel right, it felt like they were walking into a trap.
Riley was seated on the couch, her leg crossed on top the other, she was in deep thought. There was no other way around this. That old man placed her in a difficult pressure that not even her could fight her way through. This only fueled her anger more and the need to break Hunters neck.
"This is the only way to save Eden’s life" she said facing Iris but her stern expression wavered, almost giving out the emotions that attempted to drown her.
"Lose one child to save another" she voiced concerned "Not exactly the decision I thought you’d make." She added. "There must be something else we can do"
Iris got silence in return as once again Riley travelled too far into her head.
"Riley" Iris began staring at her with worried eyes, a shock of her head in a silent plead. There had to be another way that didn’t involve losing them both. There had to be, Riley shouldn’t subject herself to making such drastic decisions.
Riley rose to her feet walking towards the table resting her palm on it, she took a deep breath closing her eyes.
The pressure hung in the room as well as on Riley’s mind. Torn between doing the needful or risking it all. She was a mother and having to decide which child lives. It wasn’t fair.
