I need to know what happened. Because this is a totally different Dace Devereaux... completely different from who I encountered before. What happened in Costa Rica and is Emma okay? I need to know. But I have a feeling I know just about half of it.
"That’s a good enough answer for me," he said, keeping his stern gaze on me still waiting for me to mess up. Dace is grim and his aura only makes it worse, to be honest. But I know how to stand my ground. I won’t make it if I cower in his presence, he will only use it as leverage.
He doesn’t trust me yet with his sister and the same as me. I guess we are in the same fucking boat.
"What are your plans for Emma?" I asked in a stern tone.
The corner of his lips tipped in a smile. "Many things"
I think I don’t want to know this many things. I just want to know if she will be safe with him. He might not know this but this is like giving him another chance with Emma after everything that happened. And as Emma’s brother, I was having a hard time deciding that.
I grimaced. "You hurt her I will kill you, this is not a soft threat"
