Chapter 355: Cold Feeling
GRAYSON
~
I feel cold, so cold, like my skin could turn ice right at any moment and I feel wet too, like the chilly ocean was enclosed around me, and it was hard to breathe, each breathing I took was like a rapid breath, I had to steady my breathing before I would pass out from the lack of air.
Why do I feel so cold? I feel like I’m fucking drowning when I’m perfectly fine.
I had already gone in for a hot shower but still, it did nothing to reduce the cold, it’s too cold, and my skin... I’m looking paler than usual. What’s happening to my body? Is this the effect of my powers? No one said it would be like this though.
I wore a shirt and then a long shirt sleeve on top in hopes of staying warm, before grabbing a hoodie too but I was far from warm, it just kept getting worse.
"You good?" Emilia asked me the moment I stepped back into the room, she was looking out the window hugging herself as she watched the skies, her eyes were dead, and she had been like this ever since she came to us. After everything... after what her father did, I don’t know what is going on in that little head of hers but I can imagine the emotional damage, she hasn’t looked me in the eye properly, she did once, and instant regret and remorse filled her gaze. I don’t want her to look at me like that... it wasn’t her fault but her dad’s.
She can’t blame herself for what he did as long as she didn’t have a hand in it.
"Yeah just cold" I replied, resisting chatting my teeth, I would have closed the window but it seemed Emilia found some sort of comfort in looking at the moon right now. If that gives her the comfort she needs I can’t complain, I’m not that much of an affectionate guy and given the situation, there’s not much I can say.
"Cold?" she faces me with a smile on her lips. "I can help with that," she added, stretching her hand out for me. I looked at it skeptically.
Werelions have natural heat and I knew where she was going with this, I was hesitating because I don’t know what I might do when I make contact with her skin.
