Chapter 301: A Silent Voice

When I saw the panic and the people flowing out like some beast was hot on their tails my insides turned and my brain jammed, all I needed to know was if my mom was okay... that was the center of my fear, something happening to her, that was not something I could bear, the thought of losing her. Seeing the terror as the people streamed out of the area my main focus was getting to the top of the stage, that was where my mom would be, I prayed and hoped nothing was wrong.
But seeing the destroyed stage didn’t ease me at all and I found myself rushing ahead in the mixed crowd, pushing through and trying to get to high ground. Dace called for me but I didn’t listen, I wanted nothing more than to get there.
I forced my body through the cluster of people pushing and screaming but I just had to find my way through them, the closer I got the more I increased my speed, in a desperate attempt to get to the top and I did.
The moment I laid my eyes on my mom, relief flushed over me, the fear going up in smoke and all I just needed was to be in her embrace.
"Mom!" I rushed towards her in an instant and engulfed her in a tight hug, and she did too back in relief. She must have been worried just like I was, it only caused me to deepen the hug further.
"Oh Emma, I was worried, where were you? Oh, my baby girl" she rubbed my head and I buried my face in her neck allowing the tears to leak from my eyes. She must have been searching for me for so long, she must not have seen me in the crowd, I knew just how anxious she was, maybe more than I was. I was glad I was back right now and back in her arms to give her ease.
She broke the hug and cupped my cheeks. "Let me look at you," she said with teary eyes but a smile was on her lips. She looked at me like she had lost me but I pushed the emotions aside, I needed to know what happened. One minute a party was going on and now it seems like everyone’s worst nightmare, could it have been a Supernatural? Nothing seemed normal to me at this point, I have experienced so much in the supernatural world and now I don’t consider a ’normal’ accident a thing.
