Chapter 116: Wakeful
My eyelashes flicked a number of times, my head cruising back and forth against the soft texture of something, a pillow I guess, it made my head feel light, and my body felt overly relaxed too like I was on the top of a cloud, I felt no pain, I was light and feeling my best. But the heavy feeling didn’t stop, I couldn’t move my body properly.
My lashes flicked once again, I was bent on getting my eyes open, they felt weighty, just how long have I had my eyes closed?
I groaned, before licking my dry lips, they tasted so dry, I could taste them peeling. I groaned again, flicking my eyes open, it was bright too bright, I was forced to close my eyes and open them back once again.
I didn’t see the light this time, it was gone, more like being covered by something, not a thing but a person. A person, I narrowed my eyes, I didn’t have my glasses on so I should see a blurred image, but no I didn’t, I got the outline of someone’s chest, was I seeing things? Or was someone standing before me? Although not a clear vision I could make it out.
Someone IS standing before me, half naked in just a sweatpants, hanging loosely on his waist, My fist clenched on the sheet, fuck that muscular waist looks so good, I couldn’t help it as my weak shaded gaze explored this particular body, the packs lying there were well defined, so big and hard.
"Emma?"
My body taunted at the sudden baritone voice, was that Dace? I shifted my gaze to his handsome face but my vision failed me and I was forced to close my eyes. I knew I did see without my glasses but it was like a switch being flipped on and off, this has never happened to me before, I have always had bad eyesight and I have never experienced something like this, was my vision coming back?
I doubt that, because right now it was all blurry again, maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I felt the bed I assumed I laid on deepened by a heavyweight.
"D-Dace?" I couldn’t even recognize my own voice, it sounded so hoarse.
"Yes baby, it’s me"
