Chapter 189: Truth about mother
VALENCIA’S POV
"The woman you are talking about, what was she like?" I asked the old man, who looked quite familiar, though I didn’t know where I had seen him before. I led him to a table, as he smiled at my enthusiasm.
He probably thought I was just a curious cat. But how can I explain that the woman was my mother and I was a curious, helpless child who wanted to know more about my parents?
As I made the old man sit in one of the chairs, my gaze met with Maverick, who silently asked me if everything was okay, and I nodded at him.
It was heartwarming that he kept a gaze at me even while talking to the important alphas about important projects and matters at hand.
"You are quite interested in her, aren’t you?" The man asked, and I nodded.
"It’s the first time I have heard about a female Alpha. It just intrigues me. Sorry if I am taking too much of your time," I said politely, and the old alpha shook his head.
"Please sit. After my son found his mate, he was usually busy with his Luna. I don’t blame him. He has a family now. After my mate died, I didn’t really have anyone to share my stories with. So it’s definitely a pleasure to have someone to hear me," the old man said.
I smiled at him, feeling a little guilty now.
It was my conscience that told me how I was using him for my benefit while he was acting selflessly.
"She was enchanting. It’s a bit peculiar to talk about her when she is no more. She had the charm that used to make people pause and take a deep breath when they used to look at her. I haven’t met a woman with that kind of charm," the old man said.
