Chapter 66: No man
"No. I have to get back to the hospital. I brought my car," she refused, already turning in the opposite direction. The action made him clench his fists before striding after her and grabbing her wrist.
"Get back in the car, Patricia," he ordered, his voice firm. She turned to face him, defiant.
"I do not want to," she replied, rejecting him again, her refusal sparking something sharp in him. His grip on her wrist tightened.
Without warning, he scooped her up, taking her completely off guard. She shrieked as he tossed her over his shoulder and strode back toward his car like a man possessed.
"Put me down! I am not entering your car!!" She screamed, kicking and flailing, but Roman’s eyes stayed cold, dark, unbothered by her resistance, as though her outburst didn’t faze him in the slightest.
Patricia froze when she noticed he was approaching the passenger side of the car. A plan formed instantly. Once he dropped her in and walked over to the driver’s seat, she would make her move. He might be stronger, but she was clever. She would show him exactly that.
But as they reached the passenger door, Roman stopped. Instead of opening it, he pivoted and walked around to the driver’s side. Patricia’s eyes widened, her mouth falling open in shock.
"Where are you taking me?" She demanded, eyebrows knitting in a deep frown as she twisted her neck to get a better view of their direction. Her fury reignited when she realized what he was doing.
Roman said nothing. He opened the driver’s door, hit the central lock, then dropped her into the car and shoved her toward the passenger seat.
Seizing her chance, Patricia lunged for the door handle but it didn’t budge. She struggled harder, her breaths turning frantic, until his calm, cold voice cut through her panic.
